The Problem
CTCA needed to document and communicate the impact of its Alternative Farming Programme, aimed at transitioning farmers away from tobacco farming toward sustainable crops.
The challenge was to:
• Capture real-world impact across multiple locations
• Communicate long-term behavioural and economic change
• Produce a film suitable for international stakeholders and funders
THE SOLUTION
Ahluka Media produced a documentary-style film titled Harvests of Hope, capturing:
• On-the-ground farmer experiences
• Training and support programmes
• Crop diversification into soy, maize, sunflower, and ground nuts
• Collaboration between local and international institutions
The production focused on authentic storytelling, combining interviews, field footage, and contextual narrative.
THE OUTCOME
• A professionally produced impact documentary
• Clear communication of programme success
• Evidence of growth from 40 to over 400 farmers
• A media asset suitable for reports, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement
The film helped CTCA demonstrate measurable impact and scalable success.
